KuCoin, a global cryptocurrency exchange, began listing the SKATE (SKATE) token on June 9, 2025, marking the first appearance of the multichain blockchain infrastructure token on a centralized platform. Trading for the SKATE/USDT pair opened at 10:00 UTC following an initial call auction, allowing users to buy and sell SKATE on a major exchange for the first time[1].
SKATE serves as the native token of the Skate blockchain, which seeks to improve interoperability for decentralized applications (dApps). The Skate network operates across several virtual machine (VM) environments, including Ethereum-compatible (EVM), SVM, and MOVE VMs. This cross-VM approach enables developers to launch and manage applications on different blockchains within the same ecosystem[2].
In advance of the token’s launch, SKATE deposits were available only through the Ethereum (ERC20) network. Deposits from other networks such as Solana (SPL) or Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) were not supported. KuCoin advised that transferring funds from unsupported networks could result in permanent loss. Withdrawals for SKATE began one day after trading started, becoming available at 10:00 UTC on June 10[3].
A key element of the Skate blockchain is its cross-chain Automated Market Maker (AMM). This system integrates liquidity pools from all participating blockchains and establishes a single liquidity curve, making it possible for users to access both assets and application functionality across connected chains. The platform aims to enhance interoperability and composability for dApps using this structure[4].
The KuCoin listing also incorporates SKATE into the exchange’s selection of automated trading tools. KuCoin’s users can manage SKATE trading with a variety of bots, such as Spot Grid, Infinity Grid, Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA), Smart Rebalance, Spot Martingale, and AI-based options. These features give SKATE holders options to automate trades and manage their portfolios from the beginning[5].
Market analysts note that KuCoin listings can influence project visibility and liquidity, potentially leading to increased trading activity in the short term. Large exchange launches may cause price volatility as new participants join and some early holders exit. For the Skate project, the KuCoin listing is seen as a key step that could support wider adoption of its multichain infrastructure[6].
