BNB Chain’s 2025 Growth and AI Ecosystem Advances

BNB Chain has reported significant increases in network activity, financial performance, and technological upgrades during 2025. The platform has also expanded its integration of artificial intelligence, reflecting its ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and broaden use cases.

As of early June 2025, BNB Chain recorded more than 7.2 million weekly active addresses and processed approximately 102 million weekly transactions[1]. The network’s total value locked (TVL) surpassed $6.1 billion within the same timeframe, representing continued engagement from users and developers[1].

In May, transaction volume on BNB Chain rose notably, with monthly transaction counts reaching 198 million. This marked a 148% increase compared to April[2]. During one week in May, trading volume totaled $66.76 billion, and TVL peaked at $9.501 billion[3]. User activity on key components BSC and opBNB was also high, with daily active addresses at 1,628,890 and 1,975,531, respectively[4]. During a single active week, BSC registered nearly 63.85 million transactions, while opBNB accounted for about 21.96 million transactions[5].

Growth across the ecosystem contributed to improved financial results. In the first quarter of 2025, BNB Chain’s revenue reached $70.8 million. This figure represents a 58.1% increase over the fourth quarter of 2024[6]. Daily transaction volume in the first quarter averaged 4.9 million, which was up 20.9% from the previous quarter. Daily active addresses climbed by 26.4% to 1.2 million during the same period[7].

Despite this expansion, increased network activity resulted in higher gas fees for wallet transfers, with gas costs rising by 122.6% compared to the previous quarter[7]. The network’s TVL, measured in BNB, grew by 14.7% in the first quarter. BSC DeFi TVL increased from 7.6 million BNB to 8.7 billion BNB during this period[8].

In 2025, BNB Chain introduced several infrastructure upgrades. The platform implemented the Pascal hard fork, support for EIP-7702 smart contract wallet functionality, and BLS12-381 encryption to improve security, scalability, and user experience[9]. Additional performance enhancements included updated gas abstraction, EVM batch transaction compatibility, and the launch of the BNB Good Will Alliance, which reduced sandwich attacks by more than 90%[10].

Artificial intelligence has become a focus, with projects such as MOMOFUN and Phron AI joining the ecosystem[11]. MOMOFUN aims to provide an AI-powered DeFi platform for meme launchpads, while Phron AI is designed to streamline on-chain development[11]. BNB Chain has launched a $100 million liquidity program and extended its 0 Gas fee initiative to encourage experimentation and support growth. Developer engagement has been promoted through events like the AI HACK hackathon and the MVB accelerator[12].

Decentralized finance offerings continue to expand, with new protocols such as Maneki and eOracle contributing to BNB Chain’s financial service landscape[13].

BNB, the network’s native token, has traded near $668 in early June 2025, remaining stable amid market fluctuations[14]. Ongoing development in programs like Binance Alpha and increased user activity on platforms including PancakeSwap have contributed to this stability[14].
